Puerto Rico law

Veterans Legal Services Laws in Puerto Rico.

Veterans benefits in Puerto Rico are largely federal, administered by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (the VA Caribbean Healthcare System serves PR and USVI). Puerto Rico has one of the highest veteran-per-capita populations of any U.S. jurisdiction given extensive military service (including three Army bases and Roosevelt Roads Naval Station, though the latter closed in 2004). Puerto Rico supplements federal benefits through the PR Veterans Advocate Office. Puerto Rico offers a property-tax exemption for qualifying disabled veterans.
