Domestic Violence Laws in Massachusetts.

Massachusetts domestic-violence protection is governed primarily by the Abuse Prevention Law at M.G.L. c. 209A, which authorizes Abuse Prevention Orders (209A orders) from the District and Probate and Family Courts. Massachusetts also provides Harassment Prevention Orders under c. 258E for non-domestic situations.
