Civil Rights Laws in Wisconsin.

Wisconsin civil-rights law is anchored by the Wisconsin Fair Employment Act (WFEA, Wis. Stat. §§ 111.31–111.395). WFEA applies to employers with 1 or more employees — broader than federal Title VII's 15-employee threshold — and covers race, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, national origin, ancestry, creed, disability, arrest or conviction record, marital status, military service, honesty-testing use, and use or nonuse of lawful products. Wisconsin was the first state to prohibit employment discrimination based on sexual orientation (1982). The Wisconsin Equal Rights Division administers WFEA.
