Domestic Violence Laws in Nebraska.

Nebraska's Protection from Domestic Abuse Act authorizes ex parte and full Protection Orders against abusive spouses, former spouses, cohabitants, persons with a child in common, persons related by blood or marriage, and dating partners. Ex parte orders issue immediately; full orders follow a hearing and last up to 1 year. Nebraska also provides Harassment Protection Orders and Sexual Assault Protection Orders under separate statutes. Nebraska criminalizes domestic assault as a separate offense. Federal firearm dispossession under 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(8) applies.

Nebraska's Crime Victim's Reparations Program reimburses victims for medical, counseling, and economic losses. Application within 2 years.
