Veterans benefits are predominantly federal, administered by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Nebraska supplements federal benefits through the Nebraska Department of Veterans' Affairs (NDVA), which operates four State Veterans Homes (Bellevue, Grand Island, Kearney, Norfolk), administers state veteran service officers, and provides state veterans cemeteries. Nebraska offers a homestead property tax exemption for 100% service-connected disabled veterans. The VA Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System is headquartered in Omaha.
