Mississippi law

Environmental Laws in Mississippi.

Mississippi environmental law combines federal programs (RCRA, CERCLA, CWA, CAA) administered in coordination with the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ). Mississippi's Solid Wastes Disposal Law and Air and Water Pollution Control Law implement the state's delegated CWA and CAA authority. Mississippi has dealt with significant post-Deepwater Horizon settlement funds through the RESTORE Act for Gulf Coast restoration. The Mississippi Gulf Coast has active post-hurricane and oil-spill environmental litigation.
