Construction Defect Laws in Oklahoma.
Oklahoma construction defect claims are governed by the general 2-year statute of limitations for tort (12 Okla. Stat. § 95) and a 10-year statute of repose from substantial completion (12 Okla. Stat. § 109). Oklahoma has a Construction Industries Board licensing specific construction trades (roofing, plumbing, mechanical). Oklahoma's Oil and Gas boom has produced substantial construction activity and associated defect litigation. The Oklahoma Consumer Protection Act may apply to residential construction disputes.
