Domestic Violence Laws in Oklahoma.
Oklahoma provides Victim Protective Orders (VPOs) under 22 Okla. Stat. §§ 60 et seq. Ex parte emergency orders issue immediately; full orders follow a hearing and last up to 5 years (or indefinitely in specific circumstances). Oklahoma criminalizes domestic abuse under 21 Okla. Stat. § 644 with enhanced penalties for repeat offenses. Federal firearm dispossession under 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(8) applies to qualifying orders.

Authorizes Emergency VPOs (ex parte, effective up to 14 days) and final VPOs (after hearing, up to 5 years; indefinite for specified circumstances). Protected: spouses, former spouses, dating partners, household members, and those in an intimate relationship.
First offense: misdemeanor. Second offense: felony. Enhanced penalties for strangulation (§ 644(J)), commission in front of a minor, or with weapon.
Misdemeanor for first offense; felony for subsequent offense or for stalking that violates a protective order.
Reimburses crime victims for medical, counseling, and economic losses. Application within 1 year of crime.
