Veterans benefits are predominantly federal, administered by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Oklahoma supplements federal benefits through the Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs (ODVA), which operates seven State Veterans Centers (skilled nursing facilities) and state veterans cemeteries. Oklahoma offers a 100% Disabled Veterans property-tax exemption — among the most generous in the U.S. Oklahoma hosts major military installations including Fort Sill (Lawton/Comanche County), Tinker Air Force Base (Oklahoma City), Altus Air Force Base, and Vance Air Force Base.
