Domestic Violence Laws in Nevada.
Nevada's Protection Order Act authorizes Emergency Temporary Protection Orders (ETPOs) and Extended Protection Orders (EPOs) against abusers under the Nevada Domestic Violence Protection Order Act (NRS Chapter 33). TPOs issue ex parte and last up to 45 days; EPOs follow a hearing and last up to 2 years. Nevada criminalizes battery constituting domestic violence as a separate offense with escalating penalties. Federal firearm dispossession under 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(8) applies to qualifying orders.

Authorizes Temporary (ex parte, up to 45 days) and Extended (after hearing, up to 2 years) Protection Orders for victims of domestic violence, harassment, stalking, sexual assault, and workplace violence.
First offense: misdemeanor, minimum 2 days jail, community service, counseling, and fines. Second offense within 7 years: gross misdemeanor or Class E felony. Third offense: Class C felony. Aggravated or weapon-involved offenses: higher felony classes.
First-degree stalking (with threat or harm): Class C felony. General stalking: misdemeanor for first offense, gross misdemeanor or felony thereafter.
Nevada's Victim of Crime Program reimburses victims for medical, counseling, and economic losses up to $35,000 (with special limits for specified expenses). Application within 1 year of crime.
